Leather Briefcase Restoration
Before and during the restoration process. A very well-used and loved leather briefcase came into the workshop with significant wear to the lining and structure (see the 'before' images above). The main flap lining had torn through, the stabiliser material had disintegrated, the handle tab was split and close to failing, there were several other holes in the lining throughout and the back pocket zip needed repairing. The Art of Looking Old & Worn
It sounds easy but it's actually quite tricky making something look old and worn! When Graham attended one of our workshops to make a gift for his musician daughter Erin, he had three wishes. One, to handcraft an heirloom for his daughter which was both beautiful and functional. Two, to accent this beautiful creation with a vibrant red colour and three, to make it look old and worn!
